Short Bio
My love for art began early in my life. My father, Guillermo Sureda Arbelo, was a well-known watercolorist from the Canary Islands, Spain, and I grew up painting alongside him. As a teenager, I often exhibited one or two of my paintings alongside my dad's work. I took classes with two well-known artists in Puerto Rico: Fran Cervoni, with whom I studied drawing and oil painting techniques and Alonso Arana, who taught me how to paint with pastels. I love the feeling of spreading oils on a canvas, the texture that can be created and the movement of the palette knife or brush on the creamy, thick paint. I have participated in several art exhibits at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic park, one of my paintings was featured on their website. Have been born and raised in an Island deepened my love for landscapes and seascapes, which I express in mypaintings.
